“Who am I? Do you mean where I'm from? What I one day might become? What I do or what I've done? Do you mean what you see or what I've seen? What I fear or what I dream? Do you mean who I love? Do you mean what I've lost?”
“We call our ships 'she'. We call our war machines 'women'. We compare women to black widows and vipers and you're going to tell me it's not 'lady-like' to scream? To take up space and fight and demand respect and do whatever the hell I want? You've looked at nuclear bombs and been so in awe that you could only name them after women. Don't try to downplay my power.”
“what do you do of all the pain you've gathered in your heart? do you throw it in the ocean where you go to swim and drown do you throw it towards the sky that knows no bounds do you keep it all in you do you let it all out do you scream at the universe and shout do you let it grow in your eyes and breathe through your mouth do you write about it or do you let it write for you?”
10. Take pictures if you want, but don't spend every second trying to capture a moment you aren't really experiencing. 11. Be gratefull for your weaknesses andthey will become your strengths. 12. Procrastination is a choice. If there's something in your life you don't like, you can change it. Don't expect everything to come to you. Hard work rewards you. 13. Always be kinder than you feel. 14. If you think something nice of someone, no matter how small it is, tell them. They won't think it's weird and they'll think about it all day. 15. Stop waiting. Stop waiting for the weekend, for summer, to turn a certain age. Do what you can now. 16. Wherever you are, be all there. 17. Being picky is okay. 18. Do not rely on others for happiness or to “complete” you. You have to be whole on your own.
